OnLine Taxes was founded in 1999 by William White, an entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience in both computer programming and public accounting. The company's technology now is managed by Premkumar John, who joined OnLine Taxes in 2002 and whose experience includes eight years at Cerner Corp.®, the world's leading supplier of health care information technology.

Online Taxes sole focus is individual and professional tax preparation software.

In 2002, OnLine Taxes became a member of the Free File Alliance, a consortium of tax software companies that partners with the IRS to offer free federal online tax preparation and electronic filing to qualified consumers filing through our individual tax software.

Each participating company has its own eligibility requirements: At OnLine Taxes, any taxpayer who comes to our site to self prepare their tax return from the IRS Free File Page and meets our qualifications, may prepare and file a federal return at no cost.
